After the first EP released in 2019 with Mother Tongue label, the French band never stopped reinventing itself. Oscillating between future jazz and house, the alchemy within the band proves to be quite unstoppable. Whether on stage or in the studio, Gin Tonic Orchestra continuously innovates, reinvents, and experiments. The goal is to create a live experience that mirrors a DJ set, deeply influenced by club culture and jazz.
This record comes back with a few updates. Since its release, Gin Tonic Orchestra has been touring extensively in France and abroad, refining its sound and pushing its boundaries even further. Tracks like La Couenne Rance and Crush have made waves across playlists, receiving notable airplay on Radio Nova, FIP, PBB, Laurent Garnier's radio show and many more.
Following the album, the band delivered numerous standout performances, including a spot in Resident Advisor’s Top 5 Nuits Sonores, two consecutive concerts on the Cybèle stage and the Jazz Club stage at Jazz à Vienne, and their second international appearance at the Bucharest Jazz Festival.
For their first album Shyance, the collective opens with a cataclysmic intro leading into No I Can’t Be Free, bridging the Stefania EP to this new chapter. The rest of the album navigates through Fusion (Shyance), Hisaishi-inspired harmonies (Yubaba), DnB (Rage Jaune), Deep House (La Couenne Rance), Cosmic Disco (Crush), and Thrash R&B (Can U Plug My SM58 Tonight).
