It’s been now 25 years that Olivier Portal has been Playin’ 4 the City.

Very versatile in the beginning, he has nurtured his productions while doing club residencies in Paris and Chicago, making his music all the more dancing and developing a very original touch drawing near to the sounds of Chi -Town and New Jersey. By the end of the 90’s, he collaborated with many DJ’s and producers such as DJ Deep, Julien Jabre and Franck Roger among others, thus gaining a real credibility and much respect from the underground Parisian house scene and the world at large.

The Music & The Rhythm 1997-2003 brings back to the forefront some of the most anthemic tracks reflecting a very creative period in which Olivier Portal hooked up with great vocalists and players to produce his own style of deep house rich in soulful vocals, jazzy harmonies, funky bass lines and his trademark keyboard layers. This triple LP brings back to light some of the most emblematic tracks reflecting a very creative period during which Olivier Portal teamed up with excellent vocalists and instrumentalists to produce

Thomas Blanchot, 40 years old percussionist and drummer, started his production structure Mato Production in 2001, with which he collaborated and directed for many projects.Composer, music publisher and producer of music for TV, advertising, films and records, he also began a career as reggae producer since 2006, under the name "MATO". Since then he’s released music through various projects concepts, coming out through labels such as Makasound, EDR Records or Big Singles. In the meantime he developed a real trademark: taking over classics French, Hip-Hop, or Pop song, into roots Reggae-Dub new versions.Besides since 2010, Mato’s built a solid reputation thanks to his many remixes of Hip-Hop classics on Stix Records. It is therefore natural to find him back with a new attractive concept on the Favorite Recordings’ sub-label: seasoning the notorious "Homework" by Daft Punk, with his special Reggae-Dub sauce.Once again Mato achieves a brilliant rendition with this “Homework Dub”, making almost dreadlocks grow on the French robots’ heads! Using kick-effects, delays and roaring bass, he reinvents one of the most famous albums of electronic music, as if it was straight-out from Scientist, King Tubby or Mad Professor’ studios in Jamaica.
**** DIZONORD DEADSTOCK ****Dizonord team discovered DJ Moppy’s label Animal Right Records back in 2016 on a Detroit Threads’ shelf. ARR-001 was previously released in 2016 and is a beautiful mini LP for all broken beats lovers and Theo Parrish fans. Moppy's solo debut album features various styles of electronic music such as house, downtempo and hip hop.
1988: Six years after entering the music scene, and just a few months after the release of the teen, 80s earworm, “Bonne bonne humeur ce matin” by Tristan, the producer and arranger, Michel Bassignani, recorded “Tu me tues” in Belgium. Dissatisfied with the result, Michel went back to the drawing board at Waldbery Studios in Paris recording all instrumentals (except sax). After hearing his new work, Dominique, a high school pal, proposed to sing for Bassignani. Dominique's stage name became Maureen, and in addition to the single and extended versions, the duo recorded a “Dance mix”. We asked Jkriv to express its talent to produce a new version of this classic music track. Pardonnez-nous, but check it out!
