Quite an OVNI here with its French, English and Creole lyrics but the last track with its boogie vibe wins! It is a rare example of the influence of Jamaican culture on African diaspora's music in France. Check B4! We got this stock thanks to our friend Hadj Sameer, who found the vaults of an old African shop in the suburbs of Paris, held by a family that we met.

Floxmade! Anglo-French binational FLOX has been sowing his Nu-Reggae seeds for years now in venues all around France, and a new genre has sprung up, somewhere between roots reggae and electro. Deeply influenced by the Jamaican Culture, from LKJ to The Police, to the more modern Fat Freddy’s Drop.
Favorite Recordings pursues its 12inch Disco series with a new 2 tracks single by 7 Samurai. After a few remixes already produced for the label over the past 3 years, the duo (Tom Wieland & Marc Frank) known for their various edits and productions for labels such as G.A.M.M or Poets Club Records, will extend this collaboration with a new album planned for 2016.On these 2 first tracks, old-school “x-edit” kings 7 Samurai are back on da block with two soulful original party tunes.“Shake It Up” is a sun drenched disco reggae dub version of the classic rare groove anthem by The Vibrations, and features the vocal talents of Alicia “Blue Eyez” Smith. While the dubby disco flip “Cosmic Jam” (dedicated to Patrick Forge), sounds like Sun Palace´s rude movements reworked in King Tubby´s echo chamber. Essential listening!
Stix Records, a sub-label of Favorite Recordings, proudly presents Disco Reggae Vol. 4, following three precedent acclaimed editions. Imagine the biggest classics from Roy Ayers, Chemise, Lyn Christopher, Gerswhin, A Taste Of Honey, Keni Burke, Patrice Rushen or Kraftwerk reworked and re-arranged as Reggae & Dub killer tunes. Dream no more, the best producers from the Stix roster cooked some magic over these essential tunes: Soul Sugar aka Booker Gee, Taggy Matcher, Blundetto, Mato, Rosemary Martins and Wolfgang signed here the perfect soundtrack to extend the summer and rock the dancefloors! Massive!
Here comes another brilliant rework of Studio 1 classic. It's the melodica dub version of Ernest Ranglin's reggae jazz tune
